FT: Tottenham 3-2 Vitesse! An eventful first match in charge for Conte goes the way of the Italian manager. A stunning opening half-hour gave way to a nervy end to the first half, followed by a second period where they were reliant on Lloris' heroics to keep them in the game. Romero's dismissal tipped the game the way of Vitesse, before two late red cards for the visitors extinguished any threat of a comeback.

HT: Spurs 3-2 Vitesse! Everything was going to plan for Spurs and Conte as they raced into that three-goal lead with exciting, high-tempo and purposeful football. The party atmosphere has gone a bit flat after two slack moments gave Vitesse more than a hope of pulling off a comeback but those goals were just reward for a visiting side who have played with attacking intent and verve themselves.

  • 22'
GOAL for Spurs! Lucas Moura links up nicely with Kane just inside the opposition half, before the forward returns the favours with a through ball down the centre that leaves the 29-year-old with only the keeper to beat, and he side-foots an effort through the legs of the onrushing Schubert.

Bazoer beats Kane to a pass midway inside the Tottenham half and feeds Gboho, who tees up the 21-year-old forward out to his right. The Danish Under-21 international cuts inside to fashion a shooting opportunity on his left, but drills a low effort the wrong side of the upright.

The selection would appear to indicate a switch to Conte's famous three at the back. Davies will most likely play as the left-sided centre-back alongside Romero and Dier. Reguilón will be the left wing-back with Emerson in a similar role on the right.
  • PRVW
After all the speculation, there is only one change to the Spurs line-up from the side beaten here by Manchester United on Saturday in what proved to be Nuno's last game. Lo Celso drops to the bench with Reguilon coming in.
