The world of football closes many mouths. Even the king of iconic phrases'. José Mourinho has seen how time has changed his thoughts with regards to future clubs.
On Wednesday his arrival at Tottenham was made official and in England, the main news outlets have recalled what he said in 2015.
Before becoming Manchester United manager, after leaving Chelsea, Mourinho said that he would never go to Tottenham.
"I will never manage Tottenham", the Portuguese manager said in 2015. "I will not accept the job because I love the Chelsea fans too much", he continued.
The manager seems to have forgotten the respect he had for his fans, or the move to Manchester United made him change his mind.
Curiously, the thing he said in 2015 wasn't the only time he was linked with Tottenham. In 2007, after leaving Chelsea, he was also in the frame to manage Spurs.
Daniel Levy, according to 'The Sun', had even contacted Chelsea to pay his release clause. But it couldn't be: "Yes, at that time I couldn't go. In my contract, it said that I couldn't manage in England for the following two years."
