FT: Barcelona 2-1 Villarreal. A much stronger Barcelona demonstrate that there's still some work to do, but not all is lost for the Catalans, who are clearly much more comfortable when at home. Griezmann will have silenced some critics, and wonderboy Ansu Fati keeps his impressive run, but Leo Messi's possible calf injury is a big downside tonight. Meanwhile, Villarreal end their winning streak, but Santi Cazorla is as impressive as ever and that's always a plus.

Griezmann has an AMAZING shot to double score another one in the last moments of the game, but his volley goes JUST over the bar and that's the last kick of the game!

Albiol fouls Fati on the left and Barca have a free-kick in a dangerous position... Pique throws it, and it's a perfect strike but Asenjo somehow also makes the perfect save! Barcelona had it!

Valverde's men fly forward again, but they are flagged offside for the fourth time tonight. If their runs had been timed better, they could be out of sight by now.

STUNNING long-range effort from Cazorla, which moves in the air and beats Ter Stegen, who almost caught it but it was just too high for him to reach. Barça fans will be disappointed at the sight of yet another clean sheet that escapes them, but what a strike that was!

Barça get a decent shot here as Griezmann finds himself in a head-to-head with Asenjo who JUST manages to take the ball from him! Villarreal have their goalkeeper to thank here.

Barcelona are already in total control inside the first 20 minutes, and that defeat to Granada now seems a distant memory. This could be a long night for the Yellow Submarine.

WHAT A STRIKE FROM ARTHUR MELO!!! The Brazilian midfielder scores a brilliant volley from at least 25 metres out, and even his teammates can't quite believe how beautiful that was! Encouraging start from Barcelona here.

GOAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLL!!!!!!!! SECOND ONE!

Arthur chips a ball into the area, but it's headed away. Barca all over Villarreal so far. Such a different team at home...

Messi, fresh off from winning FIFA's The Best award, is back with his superb skill display. He is so enjoyable to watch.

And Villarreal have a very good chance in the counter!

This was exactly what Barcelona were needing and they've done it quickly! Griezmann moves at the near post to glance a Messi corner past Sergio Asenjo. Superb finish from the Frenchman... it needed the slightest of touches and he got it just right!

AND ANTOINE GRIEZMANN OPENS THE SCORE!!!!!
