FT: Everton 0-2 Manchester City. Goals at the end of each half by Aymeric Laporte and Gabriel Jesus are enough to seal a deserved three points for City. Everton can have no complaints, having struggled to ever get a foothold in the game. The visitors go top of the Premier League, but have played one game more than rivals Liverpool.
  • 97'
GOOOAAALL FOR MAN CITY!! Gabriel Jesus wraps it up! De Bruyne slips a perfect ball through to Jesus, who tries to lob the onrushing Pickford. The England keeper saves, but the ball bounces back up into the striker, and he heads into the empty net. Game, set and match.
  • 96'
De Bruyne earns a free-kcik near the corner flag. That could be that...
  • 94'
Everton pushing. They still have three minutes to get something here.
  • 92'
Everton break with Richarlison but his cross is caught by Ederson, who has been solid once again this evening.
  • 90'
To be fair, there's been a lot of injuries today.
  • 90'
    SEVEN minutes added on!
  • 89'
SUB CITY - David Silva is off for Kevin de Bruyne. City's squad depth is incredible.
  • 85'
Three players go for the same long ball, and predictably chaos ensues. Cenk Tusan collides with Nicolas Otamendi as Ederson claims the ball. The former two are on the floor, looking in some pain.
  • 80'
Walcott is replaced Cenk Tosun as Marco Silva makes one last roll of the dice. Pep makes a change too, taking off Sergio Aguero and replacing him with Gabriel Jesus.
  • 74'
YELLOW CARD CITY - Fernandinho makes his 100th foul of the game and is deservedly booked, this time for breaking up a counter attack.
  • 73'
SUB EVERTON - Richarlison comes on for the anonymous Bernard.
  • 70'
Everton not really building up a head of steam. An equaliser doesn't look particularly likely in all honesty.
  • 69'
CHANCE CITY - Everton defenders are flying about all over the place as shots rain in on their goal. First David Silva's effort is blocked, before Raheem Sterling jinks past two players and sees his shot deflected onto the roof of the net.
  • 62'
SUB EVERTON - Andre Gomes is replaced by Gylfi Sigurdsson. Can the Iceland international make a difference? He has half an hour.
  • 58'
SUB CITY - Raheem Sterling comes on for Leroy Sane.
  • 58'
CHANCE CITY - The ball is clipped into the box and Pickford flaps at it. It falls to Sergio Aguero, who tries a spectacular bicycle kick which goes inches wide.
  • 53'
He smashes it straight into the knees of those in the wall. Was he hoping they'd just jump out the way?
  • 52'
FREE-KICK EVERTON - Tom Davies is brought down in a very promising position. Lucas Digne stands over it...
  • 50'
CHANCE EVERTON - Zouma almost scores from the resulting free-kick! His header goes just wide, but I think there was a defender's touch on that, so it'll be a corner.
  • 47'
Walcott seemed to accidentally elbow Laporte as they both went for a header, and as such he's the first to his feet. The defender is still on the floor with what looks like a head injury.
  • 46'
And straight away two players - Walcott and Laporte - are on the floor after a nasty clash in the air.
  • 46'
And we're back underway! Can Everton get back into this one?
  • 45'
HT: Everton 0-1 Manchester City - The deadlock of a tight first half was broken by Aymeric Laporte, whose header just before half-time gives City a slender lead. Still lots of time for Everton to get back into this though.
  • 45'
GOOOAAALL FOR MAN CITY!! David Silva swings in a free-kick from out wide, and it lands straight on the head of Aymeric Laporte. The Frenchman makes no mistake, powering a header straight into the top corner. 1-0!
  • 43'
Leroy Sane crosses for David Silva, who is denied by an incredible point-blank save by Jordan Pickford. Doesn't matter though, since Sane was initially offside.
  • 41'
CHANCE EVERTON - Walcott finds some space on the right and goes for goal. Laporte is on hand to block out for a corner.
  • 36'
Everton still holding firm. Marco Silva's not happy though, and is having words with fourth official Mike Dean.
  • 29'
CHANCE EVERTON - Walcott clips a ball into the box and the smallest player on the pitch - Bernard - heads at goal. It deflects off Kyle Walker's head and just wide of the post.
  • 25'
Everton enjoying a good spell for the first time in the match.
  • 20'
CHANCE CITY - David Silva slides a low ball across the box, and Ilkay Gundogan meets it inside the six yard box. But the ball is slightly behind him, and he can only scoop the ball onto the bar with his trailing foot. Still, should have been 1-0!
  • 19'
City enjoying all the possession so far. Everton fans will be worried.
  • 17'
Well, it took 16 minutes but at least we've had our first chance!
  • 16'
CHANCE CITY - Sane is released in acres of space on the left. He drives into the box and cuts the ball back, but it's deflected of play. Aymeric Laporte rises and heads just wide from the resulting corner.
  • 12'
David Silva sends a through ball to Leroy Sane out of play. The Toffees are leaving very little space open.
  • 10'
So far City are struggling to break down Everton's solid defensive shape.
  • 7'
Not much to report so far, both teams feeling their way into this one...
  • 2'
Immediately Calvert-Lewin runs at the City defence and carves open a half-chance for Andre Gomes. Everton are going to need the youngster's running ability this evening - he may well end up as their lone outboard.
  • 1'
And we're off at Goodison Park!

There is a lot at stake for Everton too - pressure on manager Marco Silva only increased after Saturday's defeat to Wolves. He needs a win today, and badly.
  • PRVW
Remember, a win for City here would take them top of the Premier League, having played a game more than their rivals Liverpool. Needless to say, this is a huge match in the title race...
  • PRVW
The players are here and warming up, not long to go now!
  • PRVW
City make changes too, with Raheem Sterling and Kevin de Bruyne dropping to the bench following their exertions in Sunday's 3-1 win over Arsenal. But Aguero, who scored a hat-trick in that game, stays in the side.
  • PRVW
So Gylfi Sigurdsson and Richarlison, who both started for Everton in their defeat to Wolves on Saturday, drop to the bench. Dominic Calvert-Lewin receives a rare start, while Theo Walcott returns to the side.
  • PRVW
And this evening's visitors, Manchester City: Ederson; Walker, Stones, Otamendi, Laporte; Fernandinho, Gundogan, Silva; Sane, Bernardo, Aguero.
  • PRVW
Time for some team news, starting with today's hosts, Everton: Pickford; Kenny, Keane, Zouma, Digne; Andre Gomes, Gueye, Davies; Walcott, Calvert-Lewin, Bernard.
