The new normality in football leaves interesting stats. With matches every three days and games without spectators, it is harder to keep focussed in defence. Many teams have had trouble at the back, but not every team has.
ProFootballDB, BeSoccer's data laboratory, has studied all 20 La Liga clubs' defensive stats. The most obvious conclusion is that Barca are rock solid at the back.
The side coached by Quique Setien are the only ones yet to have let in a goal in the four games played up to now. That is especially important as they are looking to win the title.
After Barcelona, the club with the best defence is Atletico Madrid. Only Athletic Bilbao, in their first match back, have managed to breach Atletico's back line. Celta have also just conceded one goal, but they have played just three games.
On the flip side there are six clubs who have not kept a clean sheet: Betis, Eibar, Levante, Mallorca, Osasuna and Real Sociedad have conceded at least one goal in every match since the coronavirus break.
Osasuna, after beating hit for five versus Atletico Madrid, are together with Alaves, who got smacked for six by Celta, the clubs to have conceded the most amount of goals per game. Alaves and Osasuna, who face each other this Wednesday, have conceded eight times in three matches (2.67 goals per game).
