According to 'BBC Sport', Arsenal are taking their time when it comes to selecting their next manager, as they understand the importance of getting the right man to handle what is going to be a difficult transition.
There are understood to be three names in the forefront of the search, with Mikel Arteta joining Luis Enrique and Massimiliano Allegri among Arsenal's top targets.
Although many fans would be happier with the latter two, due to their experience at big clubs, former player Arteta is firmly in the frame. The Spaniard played under Arsene Wenger with the Gunners between 2011 and 2014, and now works under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
Chief executive Ivan Gazidis, head of football relations Raul Sanllehi and head of recruitement Sven Mislintat are the three men making the call, and they are expected to choose Wenger's successor before the beginning of the World Cup, on June 14.
