The last few hours has been much more postiive for the Portuguese midfielder. He can now say he is on his long road to recovery.
Just after 3pm on Tuesday, Everton issued a brief statement to confirm that he had left hospital. "Following a successful operation yesterday, Andre Gomes has been released from hospital and will continue his rehabiliation under the care of our medical team," the text reads.
We do not know how long he will be out for. Unofficially, there is talk of him being out for three to five months so his injury is not as serious as first thought.
The Toffees had said on Monday that his operation had gone "extremely well", so it should not be a surprise that he has now left hospital.
