Despite suffering a worrying injury during Tottenham's first leg clash against Ajax, Jan Vertonghen has been given the go-ahead to face his former side in Amsterdam for the return leg.
Originally, Vertonghen was cleared to return to the field of play after being assessed by medics but his condition soon worsened and it was evident that he would not be able to continue playing.
Tests conducted following the injury concluded that he had not suffered a concussion, despite the impact seeming to have a serious effect on the Belgian as he attempted to make his way down the tunnel.
Tottenham will need to overcome a 1-0 defeat suffered at home in the first leg to Ajax if they are to continue their Champions League journey towards the final.
