Mallorca announced on their official channels that Daniel Sturridge, ex-player of Chelsea and Liverpool, will train with the club from this Wednesday onwards. The La Liga side sent an invitation to the forward, who has spent months without a team despite his 31-years-of-age.
The ex-England international's career started its downward slope in the 2019/20 season when he left a Liverpool side where he was only ever used as a substitute, setting off on a new career journey in the Turkish league with Trabzonspor.
His spell in Turkey wasn't a bad one, but after the campaign reached its conclusion he still hasn't returned to playing. His last match took place on 22nd February 2020, nearly a year-and-a-half ago.
It's still yet to be known whether this invitation to partake in training sessions will result in a definitive signing by Mallorca, looking ahead to the 2021/22 season.
