Ronaldo threatened to leave Qatar as he did not start against Switzerland

Portugal beat Switzerland in the last 16 of the World Cup. Fernando Santos' side scored 6-1 without Ronaldo, who was not in the starting eleven for the match.

The coach's decision made the striker very angry and, after the match, he spoke on his social media: "Luxury display," he said without wanting to get into controversy.

According to 'Record', Ronaldo threatened to leave after being told he would not start against Switzerland. Moreover, his relationship with Fernando Santos is not the best. 

The same media outlet reports that an argument with the coach was the straw that broke the camel's back. The '7' considered leaving the squad but he did not do so because he thought about how much was at stake for Portugal at the World Cup.

The Federation deny that any of this has happened. Portugal do not agree with the news that has been published about Cristiano Ronaldo. Otherwise, the player decided to continue but he was not seen training with the rest of the team on Wednesday.
