Mesut Ozil and Karim Benzema have been close friends since they met at Real Madrid in the summer of 2010. The German player arrived at the club a year after the French striker and since then, they have formed a great relationship.
They also kept it up when the German international left the team in the summer of 2013 and continue to do so to this day. The midfielder even congratulated the Frenchman when he received the Ballon d'Or this season.
This time, Ozil once again had a great gesture for the Madrid player after France lost the World Cup final to Argentina. He wrote a message on Twitter in which he defended his friend and criticised Deschamps for leaving him out.
"No Benzy, no party," said the Istanbul Basaksehir striker referring to Benzema's absence. The coach could have counted on him despite his injury but Deschamps did not want to.
