Despite their slow start to the season, QPR midfielder Luke Freeman is optimistic for his side to be play-off contenders at the end of the season.
QPR made it seven points from three games after four straight defeats had left them at the foot of the table.
The former Bristol City player now believes that his side can kick on and set their expectations higher.
When asked whether this was a feasible possibility, the 26-year-old told the 'Daily Mail': "I think we can, we have a good squad.
"A few of the lads have been promoted and I have experienced it before, and we're saying it's got that kind of buzz about it, that real team spirit. When you get that, things tend to pan out in a positive way."
The upturn in results has also eased the pressure on QPR manager McClaren.
Freeman added: "He's really good, probably one of the best I've been involved with.
"He knows his stuff and the lads would agree. It's been a tough spell but the results haven't really shown how it's been behind closed doors."
