Wilshere has been plagued by injuries ever since he burst onto the scene with Arsenal as a teenager, and as a result Arsenal are looking to reduce his basic salary to reflect his playing time.
However, according to the 'Metro', any deal with Arsenal would also see appearance-based bonuses go up to compensate. Liverpool on the other hand would be prepared to match his current wages - a reported €100,000 per week.
Wilshere has been reportedly identified by Klopp as a replacement for Emre Can, who looks to be on his way to Juventus come the end of the season.
Arsene Wenger, having already lost Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to the Merseyside outfit last summer, would likely be reluctant to let another one of the players he nutured from a young age move to Anfield. With this in mind Arsenal may now alter their stance.
