Everton
Kurt Zouma returns to the squad for Everton after serving a suspension and could well replace Phil Jagielka. Yerry Mina also returns to action and will compete with Michael Keane for the other central-defensive position.
Morgan Schneiderlin was handed a rare start on Tuesday against Cardiff but may retain his place after a strong performance. Gylfi Sigurdsson equalled his best ever return in a Premier League campaign with two goals at the Cardiff City stadium, taking his tally to 11 for the season so far.
Liverpool
Klopp admits that Roberto Firmino is unlikely to start for Liverpool after suffering from an ankle injury against Manchester United last week. Sadio Mane will likely take his place, but with a career high 14 league goals this season, it won't be a huge blow for Liverpool.
This is likely the biggest decision the German manager will have to make as other injuries to Dejan Lovren and Joe Gomez will mean the back four will have to remain unchanged ahead of the Merseyside derby. Jordan Henderson was benched against Watford so the captain will look for a start this weekend.
MANAGERS' THOUGHTS
Marco Silva
"If we can perform at the level we did [against Liverpool] in December it will be very good. That means we will be very close to winning the match."
“Derbies are a really tough matches. Normally it’s not fantastic football from both teams but we have to be really competitive."
Jurgen Klopp
“In these games, I know we are the tip of the arrow, the ones who have to do it for the people. They cannot win in the office, these games. We have to do it on the pitch."
Klopp on Roberto Firmino's injury - “Bobby has been running, and he is very positive, but we will have to see how he reacts.”
FORM GUIDE
DID YOU KNOW?
The last time these two Merseyside rivals met, Origi claimed an injury-time winner after some less than favourable goalkeeping from Jordan Pickford. That win took Liverpool's unbeaten run against Everton to 18 encounters.
Sunday's clash will mark the 200th time the two have faced off in top-flight football, and while Liverpool have only ever successfully pulled off the double against their rivals twice in the last seven seasons (2011-12 and 2016-17), the Reds are unbeaten in their last 16 league meetings with the Toffees.
