Everton ready to raid arch-rivals Liverpool for Origi

No player has moved between Everton and Liverpool since 2002, when Abel Xavier made the move across Stanley Park to Anfield, with the last player to join Everton from Liverpool coming way back in 1992 in the form of Gary Ablett.

However, that could all be set to change, with the 'Toffees' having registered their interest in Belgian international Origi.

Liverpool are prepared to let the player leave, having said as much in the summer, only for the 23-year-old to reject overtures from Wolves as his current employers failed to agree a suitable deal with Borussia Dortmund.

With Everton having only Cenk Tosun, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Oumar Niasse to call upon up front, a trio which has contributed just two Premier League goals so far this season, the need for more players capable of making a difference in front of goal is abundantly clear to manager Marco Silva.

Origi has failed to make himself indispensible to Liverpool since joining the club from Lille in 2014, whilst a disappointing loan spell with Wolfsburg in 2017/18 also limited his chances of breaking into the side on his return.
