Former Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand told 'Vibe with Five' that he does not understand why Cristiano Ronaldo was not among the eight nominees for the Premier League's best player while the likes of Arsenal's Bukayo Saka were in the running.
"Is Saka among the nominees for player of the year?" the former England footballer wondered strangely. "Ronaldo should be ahead of three or four of the nominees. He probably wouldn't win, but this election is a laughing matter," he added.
Ferdinand said that "Cristiano will see this as disrespectful and it will give him fuel" and believes the Portuguese will think: "I don't get it, I scored more goals than most of this list apart from Salah, so I don't get it".
This season in the Premier League, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 18 goals and provided 3 assists in 30 games. Bukayo Saka has scored 11 goals and provided 6 assists in 37 games.
