After a series of private emails were leaked in recent weeks, Premier League champions Manchester City are set to face a number of investigations in relation to an alleged breach of Financial Fair Play rules.
City look likely to be the subject of lengthy investigations into their spending from a number of sources including; UEFA and HM Revenue and customs.
UEFA's Club Financial Control Body are now seemingly obliged to investigate the claims, as rumours suggest that several commercial deals concluded by City appear to have been indirectly funded by owner Sheikh Mansour.
Meanwhile, HM Revenue and Customs say they will be 'relentless in pursuing' any footballing figure or club that have evaded tax payments.
The world football governing body FIFA, are also set to launch a separate investigation into allegations over a breach of third party ownership of youth players by the Manchester club.
With further leaks imminent, Premier League chiefs are set to meet in London on Thursday at a scheduled shareholders meeting.
Last week, the English top division issued a statement which read: 'The Premier League has a range of financial rules and disclosure obligations that apply to all clubs, and result in ongoing monitoring of club finances. If we receive any substantiated material that suggests our rules may have been breached, or relevant information has not been disclosed, we will investigate and have a track record of doing so.'
'These processes are confidential and we do not comment publicly unless there is anything substantial to say.'
Manchester City have remained steadfast in their denial of any and all allegations made against the club.
