Antony very much wants to play for Manchester United, and his ex manager, Erik ten Hag, knows this. According to 'The Daily Express', the footballer has communicated to the Dutchman that he can count on him for the new period at Old Trafford.
The Brazilian media has even suggested that the footballer will put pressure on his current club, Ajax, to allow his transfer to be granted. He is not currently satisfied with the obstacles that the Dutch club are putting in front of his move to England. They have placed an inflated price tag as high as 80 million euros on him and he will attempt to get the board to reduce this figure in order to make his exit more possible.
The ex Sao Paulo player has not yet played in one of the top leagues. However, he already knows how to shine in European competition. The Eredivisie has been the platform from which he has produced his best football to date and he has become one of the most important members of the Ajax squad. In the 2021/22 season, he broke his own personal goals and assists records with ten and twelve respectively.
It is no surprise that Antony is unhappy with Ajax's current behaviour in the window. This is because his current market value is less than half of their current asking price. It stands at 34.8 million euros. However, the high request is understandable somewhat, given the fact that his contract is due to expire in three years' time.
