Ibrahimovic started his first game for the Red Devils since returning from injury, and he did so by captaining his side in the Carabao Cup quarter final against Championship team Bristol City.
Having conceded a shocking opener and with half an hour to go, United needed something special, with the hosts looking to run down the clock. Up stepped Ibrahimovic.
Pogba was brought down 25 yards out and United had a free-kick. Ibrahimovic stood over it to try to force extra-time. The Swede fired low and it took the slightest of deflections to fizz into the bottom corner past Steele.
After equalising, Ibrahimovic was replaced by Mourinho and United went on to lose the tie in the 93rd minute, with Bristol City progressing to the semi-finals.
