The tension between Gareth Bale and Zinedine Zidane in the Real Madrid dressing room continues. The Real Madrid boss left him out of the squad for the match with Leganes on Sunday.
The omission of the Welsh winger is surprising because despite not playing in recent games, he had been in the squad list.
But, after walking off during the game against Villarreal instead of watching his teammates in action and then not celebrating the league title with the rest of the team, Bale has been left out by Zidane.
This game on the only day Zidane was not asked about Bale during the press conference. The coach even got fed up of questions about the Welshman prior to the Villarreal clash.
Gareth Bale seems to have run out of opportunities at Real Madrid. The winger's contract runs until 2022 and he his not keen to leave. For him to go before then, he would have to reach an agreement with 'Los Blancos'.
Another two people are missing from the Real Madrid squad although their situation is different. James was once again left out, something which has been the case for the last few weeks.
Hazard will not be at Butarque this Sunday either. The club want to take it easy with the Belgian who hopes to be 100% fit for the Champions League last 16 second leg against Manchester City.
The full squad list is the following: Courtois, Areola, Altube, Carvajal, Militao, Ramos, Varane, Nacho, Mendy, Kroos, Modric, Casemiro, Valverde, Isco, Benzema, Lucas Vázquez, Jovic, Asensio, Brahim, Mariano, Vinicius and Rodrygo.
