'The Toffees' face Southampton on Saturday and it was expected that the new £28m signing would make his first appearance, though this has been denied by Silva, who says he is not sure when the Colombian international will be ready and insisted there is no rush.
This means fellow new defender Kurt Zouma is likely to pair up with Michael Keane for the game due to the suspension of Phil Jagielka.
Marco Silva spoke in a press conference on Friday: "We finalised our squad on the last day. Some of the players I know very well but we will have to give them time to settle and adapt to our methods. We played for 50 minutes with 10 men last week and we played very well. There are no problems with Richarlison, he is okay.
"We will see who plays but I can tell you about Mina. He is not available. Zouma is available. It is between him and Holgate.
"Mina is recovering from a small problem in his foot. The medical staff will give you more updates. I hope I can give a positive update next week. We will see in the next few days."
