Wolves v Man. City - as it happened
Thanks for joining me here tonight. See you tomorrow for some EFL Cup action.
FT: Wolves 1-3 Man City. Wolves were huffing and puffing to get the leveller but Jesus put the final nail in the coffin with his injury-time goal.
And City make it 3-1. Jesus gets into the box and fires it past Patricio thanks to a deflection off Coady.
Jesus has a shot from outside the box that Patricio gets down and parries out for a corner.
4 minutes added time.
Wolves have got nothing to lose here. It's either a 2-2 draw or a 1-3 loss because they risked it.
Boly has a header that goes well over.
Rodri is booked for kicking the ball away.
Manchester City sub: Ferran Torres on for Sterling.
Game on. Podence puts in the cross and Raúl Jiménez heads past Ederson.
Wolves sub: Fabio Silva on for Neto.
Wolves sub: Moutinho off for Dendoncker.
A good win for Manchester City. Their next game in the league is against Leicester.
Wolves did threaten for a bit and they had a good few chances. If they had taken one of them they could be in with a shout.
Fernandinho scuffs his shot from inside the box and it goes over the bar. Not the player you would have wanted in that position.
A sitter from Raúl Jiménez. Traoré crosses in and he puts it wide. He was at the penalty spot and should have been getting that on target.
Another chance for Wolves. Podence is played through and chips Ederson but it goes just over the bar. I don't see why he is trying that instead of just hitting it on target.
Wolves are starting to threaten now.
Neves has a weak effort from outside the box that is cleared by Walker on the line.
Podence turns and shoots inside the box but he fires it just past the post. Good chance for the hosts.
Jesus has a decent chance from just inside the box that is straight at the keeper.
This win would take City up to 7th in the league.
And we're off.
HT: Wolves 0-2 Manchester City. A pretty comfortable match for City who will want to try and get more in the second half.
2 minutes added time.
Rodrigo has a drilling shot from a very tight angle that goes just wide. A decent effort.
De Bruyne is through, has a shot in the box but Rui Patricio saves and it's out for a corner.
Wolves' closest chance. The cross comes in but Raúl Jiménez heads it far wide.
This was a potential banana skin for City. Guardiola will be pleased that they are winning as they haven't played a competitive match since August.
Foden has a shot from inside the box that goes well over.
Mendy is booked for a foul on Traoré.
Jesus is booked for a foul on Saiss.
Looks like I spoke too soon. Sterling is played through, he cuts it back for Foden who slots it in.
What we often see is that there are hardly any goals in the first half of games. That is what is happening tonight. It could be the influence of no fans.
There haven't been many chances here tonight. Only really a free-kick for De Bruyne and his penalty.
Rui Patricio goes the right way but the Belgian makes it 1-0.
Saiss is penalised for a late challenge on De Bruyne.
Wolves will be hoping that they can qualify for next season's Europa League after missing out last season.
City have been the better side so far as they try to get a goal.
De-Bruyne has a free-kick from about 25 yards that Patricio parries.
An early change from Wolves. Marcal must have an injury, or Nuno is very brave and decided to take him off early on.
Wolves sub: Vinagre on for Marcal.
A draw takes Wolves up to 6th in the league after they won their first match of the season against Sheffield United last week.
City have a game on Thursday against Bournemouth in the League Cup.
And we're off.
Teams are out.
City haven't beaten Wolves since January 2019. City last failed to score against Wolves away in 2003.
City have Ake starting tonight with Ferran Torres on the bench.
Manchester City XI: Ederson, Walker, Stones, Ake, Mendy, Fernandinho, Rodri, Foden, De Bruyne, Sterling, Gabriel Jesus.
Wolves XI: Rui Patricio, Boly, Coady, Saiss, Traore, Neves, Joao Moutinho, Marcal, Daniel Podence, Jimenez, Pedro Neto.
