"We are trying to be better physically as well as being able to express our talent and capabilities on the pitch. We are trying to remain united on the field and be a team," remarked the Croatian central midfielder in an interview with 'FIFA.com'.
In the same vein, Modric wanted to emphasise his thoughts, underlining: "I think we have improved under Solari in this respect. There are still a number of area which can be improved, but I think that heading to Abu Dhabi, we are in good shape, with a chance to win a trophy, which is a big motivation."
Also, the Croatian recognised the improvement of his own physical condition: "I feel so much better in this tournament than I did at the start of the season. I struggled to find my rhythm again, after what was a very tough World Cup. I was physically and mentally exhausted, but in recent matches I have been feeling better."
"The most important thing is the group as a collective, that the team is playing well. I try to help as much as I can, and my only goal right now is to win the Club World Cup, which is an important title for all of us. We will have to wait and see what happens at an individual level," Modric added.
Finally, Modric was clear in displaying his hunger to do more: "My goals are to win more titles, the Champions League, the League and the Copa del Rey, which we have not won since 2014. I would like to win it again. I play because I still have hunger and I will work hard to be at my best level in order to help the team."
