Emile Smith Rowe made quite the impression in today's International Champions Cup fixture between Arsenal and Atletico Madrid.
July 26, 2018
The 17-year-old seized his opportunity playing with the first team and was the stand out performer as Arsenal held Atletico Madrid to a draw, scoring from a brilliant effort just after half time.
But who is the Arsenal prospect?
Rowe was born on 28 July, 2000 in Croydon, London and is often deployed wide on the left, however the youngster boasts versatility. Rowe is a product of Arsenal's youth academy and even turned down an offer from Catalan Giants, Barcelona, to stay and further develop at the Emirates.
New 'Gunners' boss Unay Emery highly rates the younger and therefore selected him to be the youngest member of Arsenal's tour squad.
Rowe only turns 18 on Saturday, however Emery can see maturity in the English talent.
Boss Emery revealed to Arsenal's website that, “First of all the club have given me a young player with a present and future in this club,”
“Emile is one of the club’s recommendations to come on tour with us and I am very happy with him."
"He’s close to expressing his quality with the first team. He’s 17 so I think this is the moment for Emile Smith Rowe and I’m very happy with him", added Emery before his first senior goal for the club today.
