"What Real Madrid is doing is a shame"

Joan Laporta, president of FC Barcelona, described the 'Real Madrid Television' refereeing videos as shameful in an interview with 'Mundo Deportivo'."That's influencing, trying to do it every week, every other week", he said. In addition, he assured that if Barca were the author of these montages, measures would have already been taken: "We would have already been criminalised and sanctioned". 

Moreover, Laporta acknowledged that the relationship with Real Madrid "is not good". This is due to everything surrounding the refereeing issue and the 'merengue' club's involvement in the 'Negreira case'. 

"It is an aberration what he is doing. He has asked for the investigation to be extended when there is nothing. Here what there was was technical advice from the referees, with reports and videos as evidence. Finally, he referred to the Superliga project, a tournament in which both clubs go hand in hand. The Catalan emphasised that they continue to work together with 'Los Blancos' for "a purely economic reason" and that they are doing it for "their own interests". He also gave it a start date: "If we had started this competition now, we would have made a lot of money in two years. It will be a very attractive competition and I think it will start in 2025.
