TEAM NEWS
Watford
Javi Gracia's side have a number of injury problems to deal with going into this FA Cup semi-final clash. Pereyra and Success are suffering from hip and knee injuries, respectively, and the manager remains unsure of their match fitness. An unfortunate situation for Watford, as Pereyra has started almost all of their Premier League games (29 of 32). Tom Cleverley has been ruled out for sure through a calf problem, leaving Femenia and Janmaat to compete for the start at right-back. Heurelho Gomes has been impressive for Watford meaning Gracia will likely choose him over Ben Foster.
Wolves
Wolves, on the other hand, have no fresh injury concerns to contend with although Nuno will still have some big decisions to make. John Ruddy has performed fantastically for Wolves in the cup but Rui Patricio has also proved his worth as of late and will push for a start between the posts. The Wolves manager rotated his side midweek against Manchester United, handing Vinagre a start but he will likely make way for Jonny for this FA Cup tie. Matt Doherty will act as his counterpart on the opposite flank.
MANAGERS' THOUGHTS
Javi Gracia
“We have the chance to go to a final at Wembley with our supporters and it is many years since we did it. We have to enjoy it.
"The end is not important. What is important is to enjoy the semi-final as you never know when you are going to play another one. It will be my best achievement if we reach the final.
“If you make a tackle or you start moaning that is emotion, that is football. That is what we are living for. The team that puts the most work into their game and on the day will win this match."
Gracia on the fitness of his players:
“In this moment, we have Tom Cleverley, Isaac Success, Adalberto Peñaranda and Roberto Pereyra not training with the team,” said Gracia. “They [Pereyra and Success] will train tomorrow and we will see. They are doubts. Pereyra felt some pain but I think he can be ready for the next game.
"Cleverley is out and I don’t know how much time [he will need]. In the next days it is not possible for him to play.”
Nuno Espirito Santo
“We look forward to it, we want to play it, we want to compete – this is the spirit that we have. You just go around on the streets in Wolverhampton and you feel the excitement and the emotion of our fans. We know there’s going to be 34,000 of our pack there and we’re thankful for that.
“We’re going to play the game together, we’re going to compete together. There are a couple of little details that we still have to work on and on Sunday we’re going to be ready to play and compete.
“It’s going to be very close. Watford are a very good team, with very good players, a very good manager and are very organised. We expect a very tough game against a very good team."
Wolves manager on signing Raul Jimenez:
“I’m very pleased we have signed Raul, especially because of who he is, how he is, his behaviour, his character and the performances that he has been having, but mainly because of what he gives to the team."
