Lucas Moura's deflected strike seven minutes later pulled one back for Spurs, before Bergwijn's finish between Mendy's legs made it 2-2 with just twenty minutes to go.

There would be no further scorers as both teams made multiple changes late on, it ending all square in South West London. Chelsea's next test comes against Villarreal in the UEFA Super Cup on August 11, while Spurs face Arsenal in a friendly on August 8.
