Ukraine are still putting their bid in to become 2030 World Cup hosts with Portugal, Spain and Morocco, according to the Portuguese Primer Minister Antonio Costa in his welcome speech to the participants at the UEFA Congress in Lisbon.
When it was announced that the African country had joined the project, the Ukranian option was up in the air, due to their fragile situation and due to the Federation president Andrii Pavelko's ban on suspected corruption charges.
However, during his welcome speech to the UEFA Congress, Antonio Costa spoke about Ukraine's bid, and he said it would be good to join two continents.
"There's not a more powerful message: across football, together, we can achieve peace, tolerance and understanding between people", the Prime Minister, who added that they're counting on the support of European football and reminded that "Portugal is one of the safest and most politcally stable countries in the world".
