Ronaldo guided Portugal to a thrilling 3-3 draw with 'La Roja' on Friday evening thanks to a penalty, a mistake from opposing goalkeeper David de Gea and a sensational late free-kick.
With it the forward equalled the highest international goal tally by a European and the Spanish press were keen to compliment Ronaldo on his display.
'SPORT' went with the headline "spectacular", while 'Mundo Deportivo' opted for "vibrant".
'MARCA's headline was more bittersweet, running with: "Cristiano soured our debut", similar to 'AS': "We missed our luch and were without Cristiano".
Across the border, Portuguese newspapers were quick to praise their national hero.
'A Bola' wrote that their talisman "left them speechless", 'O Jogo' described him as a "monster" and 'Record' called him "heavenly" in what was a "historical night for Portuguese football".
