It's back to the drawing board at Anfield. According to 'The Athletic', Southampton rejected a £37 million offer from Liverpool, who are looking to sign midfielder Romeo Lavia.
The 19-year-old has attracted attention from several Premier League teams, including Arsenal and Chelsea, but the Reds are the ones who have made the first move. They are looking to add further talent to their engine room following the arrivals of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszblai, as they are now faced with the departures of Fabinho and skipper Jordan Henderson.
Due the key role the young Belgian played for the Saints, and his incredible ability on the ball, the now-Championship side value him at a staggering £50 million, which is quite the mark up, given that they paid Man City just over £10 million for the midfielder last summer.
Liverpool have made no secret that they think that is too expensive for the player, and have several cheaper options on their shortlist of possible signings. However, given the talent and drive of the youngster, they may also choose to try and renegotiate with the Saints and come back with another offer.
