After a 3-2 victory over Salzburg in the Champions League, Atletico are preparing to play in La Liga again. Atletico Madrid are the only team unbeaten in the competition and that is how they want to continue.
In their only training session with all their footballers for Saturday's game with Osasuna (18:30 CET), Simeone used a line-up which saw Marcos Llorente and Joao Felix up front. Therefore, Luis Suarez would be rested from the eleven for the first time. He has started every game since joining the club with the exception of his debut against Granada.
Simeone will keep Suarez in reserve and the Uruguayan has scored four goals in seven games in all competitions. All of that is ahead of the Champions League clash on Tuesday away to Lokomotiv Moscow.
The rest of the line-up could include Kieran Trippier, Stefan Savic, Felipe Monteiro and Mario Hermoso in defence, Koke Resurreccion and Hector Herrera in the centre of midfiedld with Vitolo and Angel Correa on the flanks.
The Argentine coach weighed up this possibility in his last training session before travelling to Pamplona. He had Saul Niguez in his return to the squad. The man from Elche has missed the last four games (Celta Vigo, Bayern Munich, Betis and Salzburg) through muscle problems and it seems like he has now recovered.
Yannick Carrasco, Diego Costa and Sime Vrsaljko did not take part in training due to injury and they will not play versus Osasuna.
