Simeone explained Joao Felix's substitution which provoked whistles

"It's not the first time I've been whistled. It happened to me at the Calderon and I think also at the Wanda. It's normal, people want to have the best players on the pitch, Simeone said in the post-match press conference. 

The Argentine understands that the '7' is an absolute gem and the supporters want to see him on the pitch all the time. "Joao is one of the best, but it's also true that you have to go slowly with him," he continued. 

Simeone knows what he has at his disposal and wants to protect the youngster. Joao Felix always starts and the coach does not want to overuse him. "He plays every match because he's important. I understand that sometimes, there are those who can give you other options in the last few minutes once he (Felix) has given all that he could," the Atletico coach concluded. 

Joao Felix did not play the 90 minutes against Real Madrid. Simeone decided to take him off the field of play and put Llorente in his place, a decision which led to some whistles from the Metropolitano faithful.
