In the early hours of Saturday morning in Spain, Real Madrid and Barcelona faced each other in a new 'Clasico', this one in Las Vegas, to the delight of all the American fans.
There were a number of debuts for their new teams. Robert Lewandowski made a good performance and, thanks to Raphinha's goal, got the win. On the other side, were Real Madrid's two signings for the 2022-23 season, Antonio Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni.
Ancelotti decided to use the former Chelsea player at left-back. It was a surprise, as David Alaba would normally have been there, but he preferred the Austrian in the centre of defence alongside Militao. Despite facing Raphinha, perhaps Barcelona's most dangerous player this pre-season, Rudiger performed well, even though it is not his usual position.
What the German defender did show was character, something he is expected to have and which should be one of the strong points of the Madrid defence.
Aurelien Tchouameni made his debut in midfield. Alongside the new midfield line-up of Fede Valvede and Camavinga, the Frenchman struggled to get into the game. He was less noticeable than Rudiger, which is normal due to his youth, and preferred not to risk mistakes. Two debuts overshadowed by the result in Barcelona's favour.
