Rennes owner confident of keeping Camavinga despite RM interest

Rennes are counting on French football's young talent Eduardo Camavinga staying at the club next season, despite the rumours which say that Real Madrid want to sign him this summer.
Nicolas Holveck was appointed as club president a month ago by the owner Francois Pinault. Pinault told 'L'Equipe' that he hopes to keep hold of the 17 year-old footballer "like the rest of the squad". According to the paper, there has still not been any contact between Rennes and Real Madrid for Camavinga.
The previous president, Olivier Letang, reached an agreement with the player of Angolan origin that Camavinga would stay at the club if the team from Brittany qualified for next season's Champions League.
Rennes are currently third in the French league, halted since the beginning of March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Whether it will resume or not depends on the coronavirus situation.
Therefore, 'L'Equipe' says that the French club are confident of keeping hold of their young star and that way increase his international projection, which would see other clubs join in the fight to sign him. That would increase the player's price.
Camavinga has French nationality since the end of 2019 and the player's contract expires in June 2022 so Rennes do not have to sell him just now.
