According to the Portuguese sports paper 'Record', the 19 year-old striker is in the Spanish capital and could seal his signing for Atletico Madrid this Monday.
The 'Colchoneros' would have to pay Benfica the 120 million euros specified in his buyout clause and according to various Portuguese media sources, the footballer could receive an annual salary of six million euros.
Joao Felix, who last season stood out at the Lisbon club, is also sought after Manchester City. That option has still not been ruled out despite the fact he is close to sealing a deal with Diego Simeone's side.
He was a Portugal international for the age group teams and Felix made his debut for the senior team on 5th July in the Nations League semi-final versus Switzerland.
Atletico, aware that they will shortly lose Antoine Griezmann, have been interested in the Portuguese youngster for a long time with whom Simeone hopes to try and win some more titles.
