He has been linked with Real Madrid for some time and in recent weeks, he has even been linked with Bayern Munich. We are talking about 24 year-old central defender Pau Torres of Villarreal.
Having come through the Villarreal academy, Pau has been improving gradually and even earned himself a place in the starting XI. So far this season, he has made 26 competitive appearances and scored a couple of times.
His good numbers are keeping him in the headlines and 'GOAL' reports that Villarreal's asking price for the Spanish defender is 65 million euros.
They add that 'Los Blancos' are confident of reducing that amount if they finally try and sign the player. Apparently, when Real asked about the player back in January, they were told he cost 50 million.
'AS' also talks about the central defender's possible move to the Bernabeu although they say that all of this depends on Sergio Ramos. Attempts to renew his contract have stalled.
