Timo Werner will be one of the big movements of the summer. Chelsea have 55 million euros prepared to sign him, but RB Leipzig denied an agreement.
Oliver Mintzlaff, CEO of the German club, acknowledged that the exit of Werner is very likely, but that they still haven't confirmed the sale with the London outfit.
"No, we haven't had an exchange yet. Therefore we have nothing to report. Timo Werner is an RB Leipzig player", the board member assured on 'Sky Alemania'.
Mintzlaff explained that it was important to "extend the contract" of the player. "We did it last summer because it's important to our club that no player leaves as a free agent. Of course, there is an exit clause we put in his contract to give him the opportunity to take the next step," he said.
"Timo's the boss now, not us. So far he hasn't used the clause, nor has any club sent us a transfer contract," said the RB Leipzig CEO emphatically.
