Ramos says players to blame for Lopetegui dismissal

The club captain was reportedly instrumental in recommending Lopetegui for the role after previously working underneath him during his tenure as the coach of the Spanish national team. 

Santiago Solari, the manager of the reserve Castilla side, has been placed in temporary charge at the Bernabeu to replace Lopetegui, who was sacked after a 5-1 loss to Barcelona.

Real's stars did not perform under the former Porto manager, who was sacked with the club in ninth place in La Liga, and Ramos said it was their fault that he had lost his job. 

In a tweet he wrote: ''We’re aware and feel responsible for this situation. But this is no time to talk, it’s time to act. Today’s the first step #HalaMadrid​''
