When rumours of a possible summer exit started to spread, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi reportedly slapped a huge 300 million Euro price tag on Neymar as he looked to ward off interest in his star man. However, according to 'Le Parisien', he is now willing to consider offers for the Brazilian in the region of 222 million Euros.
With the 27 year-old believed to be desperate to return to Camp Nou, PSG have no interest in keeping an unhappy footballer at their club.
As a result of this, sporting director Leonardo will now reportedly consider offers closer to 200 million Euros than the initial 300 million Euro asking price, with the ideal situation being that the French champions recoup the 222 million Euros that they paid to bring the star over from Barcelona two summers ago.
Barcelona, meanwhile, are not willing to do anything crazy to bring back Neymar. Their reservations stem not only from a financial point of view, but also from the acrimonious way the player left the club two seasons ago, with Neymar's legal case against Barça still open.
The Spanish champions would also only consider a return for Neymar if the Brazilian agrees to take a pay cut, showing again that there are more difficulties with this transfer than just PSG's asking price.
It does seem as though the forward, with off-the-field issues and a host of injuries in recent times, is not attracting much interest from the rest of Europe's big sides. This will not bother him, however, as the Brazil star is only intent on returning to what he sees as his home after making a move that those in his circle realise he never should have done two seasons ago.
