Roma have rejected a bid of around £11m for 20-year-old striker Antonio Sanabria from Tottenham.
Sevilla and Betis are also rumoured to be interested in the Paraguayan forward who impressed at Sporting Gijon last season.
Sanabria scored 11 goals in 29 La Liga games for the Spanish side and Pochettino is looking to add attacking options to his squad.
Spurs are short on strikers and need potential cover for Harry Kane who looked exhausted as England struggled to impress at Euro 2016.
Roma are said to be asking for at least £16m for the talented striker.
