Portugal to begin 2023 with Cristiano Ronaldo's future still uncertain

Portugal go into 2023 with lots of uncertainty surrounding the national team. One of them is over the future of their captain and main man, Cristiano Ronaldo, who has not yet decided whether he will continue playing for Portugal.
After a World Cup in Qatar which was full of controversies, like him being left on the bench, the Portuguese has remained silent over his international future. This is one of the questions over the star, who is currently without a club.
The 37 year-old mentioned last September that his intention was to stay on until at least Euro 2024, but it is not known whether his problems with Man Utd and Portugal will alter his decision.
Ronaldo's future could depend on who the next coach is. The Portuguese press report that Jose Mourinho, Leonardo Jardim and even Dutchman Louis Van Gaal are in the running to replace Fernando Santos.
The footballer's future seems to lie in Saudi Arabia since, according to the latest information in the Spanish press several weeks ago, he is close to signing for Al-Nassr. However, when he was asked about that during the World Cup, he just said "that's not true."
