Palmeiras will play in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-final next week in Qatar (they could face Bayern Munich in the final). This is only their second Libertadores title, their first since 1999. Santos are still on three titles.

FT: Palmeiras 1-0 Santos!!! All over at the Maracana and a very even game is decided by a moment of magic. Rony sent in a superb cross to the back post and substitute Breno's header was perfectly placed. Santos seemed to lose focus for a second after their coach Cuca was sent off for timewasting and that cost them. This game could have really gone either way.
