Palmeiras faced Santos in the Copa Libertadores final on Saturday night.
The game at the Maracana stadium was very stop start with very little goalmouth action. The contest looked set for extra-time, but Palmeiras substitute Breno won the contest in the 10th minute of second half added time. He headed home a cross from Rony at the far post past keeper John to give Palmeiras their first Copa Libertadores since 1999. Palmeiras then travelled back to Sao Paulo where they were given a spectacular reception by their own fans. Take a look at behind the scenes footage of the players journey home in the video above!
Abel Ferreira's side will now travel to Qatar to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup next week. They will join at the semi-final stage and could well face Bayern Munich in the final if they defeat Tigres or Ulsan.
