Tottenham secured their place in Europe's premier club competition with a win over Newcastle United midweek but Chelsea and Liverpool are still battling it out.
With just one game remaining in the league, two points separate the two clubs in fourth and fifth - Jurgen Klopp's side holds the important advantage.
The 'Reds' host Brighton & Hove Albion today at 16:00 (CET) whilst Chelsea welcome Newcastle at Stamford Bridge at the same time.
For the Blues to qualify in fourth, they would need to secure a victory and hope Liverpool lose to Brighton as a draw would see Klopp and his players through by a point.
Alternatively, if Chelsea did end up finishing in fourth, Liverpool would still have a chance to make it through to the competition next season if they defeat Real Madrid in the Champions League final on May 26.
With the title already decided after Manchester City's dominance, this is the decisive battle going into the final day of the 2017-18 Premier League campaign.
