Liverpool:
It's one step forward and two steps back for Liverpool when it comes to team news. The Reds received a boost as Jurgen Klopp revealed that Adam Lallana is nearing full fitness, and could feature at Anfield on Sunday.
However, this news was outweighed by the worrying update that key attacker Sadio Mane has suffered from a fresh injury problem, and is unlikely to feature against Brighton. With the biggest game of Jurgen Klopp's tenure just around the corner in Kiev, the German coach will be praying for a swift recovery for his Senegalese speedster.
The other injury update of the week was that Joe Gomez is out for the rest of the season with his ankle problem, joining Joel Matip and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the list of absentees on Merseyside.
Brighton:
Off the back of their 3-1 loss to Manchester City, the Seagulls have no fresh injury concerns. Steve Sidwell is the only absentee, meaning that the Englishman will have missed the entire season through injury, first with a back problem, then with an ankle problem. Easy money, that.
With this being the last game of the season, it goes without saying that Chris Hughton will play a full strength lineup. Unlike Jurgen Klopp, he has no need to worry about keeping players protected.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp:
The German coach praised Chris Hughton's side, who recently took the pressure off themselves by securing their place in the top flight next year, and said his team must forget about recent poor results on Sunday.
"Brighton are a good team and playing completely without pressure," Klopp said. "That's the situation. I have nothing to moan about with the past. You have to take it how it is and make the best of it."
"It's the last game of the season, so it's a big one. There are many big moments when people can be really proud and happy to be a supporter of this club. On Sunday, we have to deliver again."
Brighton manager Chris Hughton:
Hughton is under no illusions about the threat posed by his side's opponents on Sunday. "It's about how we stop Liverpool's threat and get ourselves into the game," he explained. "We're expecting a tough game against a strong side."
"Their front three is one of the best in Premier League history. Attacking combinations in the past have generally been about a front two - so to be talking about three is different and they've been outstanding."
"We will have to defend really well on Sunday at Anfield to get something from the game."
Did you know?
Last time out, Liverpool demolished Brighton 1-5 at the Falmer Stadium. On Sunday the home side need a minimum of one point to secure their spot in the top four, and with Mo Salah one goal off breaking the Premier League goalscoring record for a 38-game season, it is hard to look past a Liverpool win to end the season.
