"The goalkeeper David Ospina has joined Napoli on a permanent transfer following a season on loan at the Serie A side,"·Arsenal confirmed via an official statement on social media.
This was confirmation from the Londoners that the Colombian goalkeeper had been sold. He will stay at San Paolo after a loan spell in which he made 24 appearances last season.
After coming through the Atletico Nacional youth teams, David Ospina made the move to Europe when he joined Nice in 2008. He spent six seasons there before signing for Arsenal in 2014.
With 98 caps, the man from Medellin is the most capped goalkeeper in the history of the Colombia national team and he played in the 2014 and 2018 World Cups.
Arsenal wanted to thank him for the four seasons he played at Arsenal (five seasons as an Arsenal player): "We would like to thank David for his contribution to the club and everyone at Arsenal wishes him the best for his future."
