Fulham have a new signing. The club have announced the signing of 26 year-old Portuguese international, Joao Palhinha. He has signed a contract until the 30th June 2027.
The Portuguese central midfielder has committed to Fulham for the next five seasons, although his contract includes a clause to extend with the club for another season, until 2028.
The official figures in the deal have not been revealed, but transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano claims that the deal is worth around 22 million euros. Palhinha completed his medical and signed the contract with his new club last weekend.
Made in Sporting Lisbon's academy, he has spent practically his entire club career at the Portuguese side, where he made his debut as a player and has gone on to make 95 official appearances.
In the 2021/22 season, he made 39 appearances, starting 33 of those and scored three goals. He became one of the most important player for the Portuguese side, which meant that English clubs became interested in him, and he will make his debut in England after 164 games in Liga Portuguesa and eight Champions League appearances.
