Luis Muriel seems right at home in Italy. Just as his career seemed to be stalling, a call from Fiorentina has reignited it once more.
After falling down the pecking order, Sevilla decided to loan Muriel out in January. He has since been back to his best, scoring 9 times in 18 appearances for Fiorentina.
Curiously, this is a figure that he never bettered at Sevilla. He scored 9 goals in the 2017-18 season, although it took him 46 games to do so, and managed a respectable 8 in 19 games in the first half of this term for the Andalusian side.
At Fiorentina, he is playing under the tutelage of Vincenzo Montella - a manager who, coincidentally or not, he also played under at both Sevilla and Sampdoria.
The Colombian will now strive to keep showing Fiorentina what he is capable of as he hopes for his transfer to be made permanent - and he looks set to pass his career best record of 9 goals in a season before the end of this campaign.
