Muniain now third for Athletic Bilbao appearances

Iker Muniain made his 515th Athletic Bilbao debut and he has become the third footballer with most appearances for the club after going back Joseba Exteberria.
Only Jose Angel Iribar (614) and Txetxu Rojo (541), who recently passed away, have played more times for the Basque club.
Muniain, 30, made his first team debut on 30th July 2009 in a Europa League game against Young Boys. It was then, at the age of 16 years, seven months and 11 days. That made him the youngest player to make his Athletic debut.
He came through the Athletic academy after joining the club in 2005 at the age of 12 from Txantrea. In his 14 seasons as his first team player, Muniain has played 398 La Liga games, 52 Copa del Rey matches, 61 European competitions - seven in the Champions League and 54 in the Europa League - plus four Super Cup games. He has scored 72 goals.
