Aymeric Laporte and Manchester City are getting closer and closer to going their separate ways. The lack of opportunities that Pep Guardiola is giving him has opened the door to rumours, which his cryptic message on social media only added to.
'The Sun' reported that the French defender (who has a Spanish passport) won't be staying at the Etihad. What's more, the player himself put a message out which would have sent the San Mames fans crazy for a potential return.
Aymeric Laporte went onto Instagram to say: "After rain comes a rainbow; after the storm, the calm and after an end comes a new beginning". These words then opened the possibility of a return to Bilbao.
The defender has a contract at Man City until 2025, meaning he'd have to come to an agreement with the English side to reduce the price of a possible exit. Barcelona were interested in him, but they appear to have everything sorted for Inigo Martinez.
This move therefore leaves a spot free at Athletic Bilbao. There's no concrete reports about it, but 'El Desmarque' explained that Laporte's wife and son live in Bilbao. We'll have to stay on all the developments in this one.
